<p>Now, use your imagination and put yourself in the place of the person who hurt you. In your imagination, see the event through the eyes of the other person (this is the second person&#8217;s point of view).</p>
<p>Note that we all do whatever we do given our resources (weaknesses often when we fail ourselves). So seeing the event from the others point of view, also note the other person&#8217;s weaknesses.</p>
<p>Really use your imagination and walk a mile in the other person&#8217;s moccassines.</p>
<p>Next, step out of the others head and review the event objectively. See the event from way above so that the event becomes smaller and less emotionally significant.</p>
<p>Imagine the event runs backwards as a movie running in reverse. Go backwards in time until you reach fifteen minutes before the event.</p>
<p>From this objective point of view and fifteen minutes before the event has happened, understanding a little about the others point of view -</p>
<h1 style="text-align: center;">forgive the other</h1>
<p>Say silently, &#8220;I forgive you, bless you, and understand you did whatever you did, out of weakness. I let you go and set you free. I&#8217;m now free of the chains which bind us.&#8221;</p>
<p>Take a few more deep breaths and move into the first person position (looking at the event through your own eyes) and notice that the event is way less emotionally charged.</p>
<p>Hopefully even the first time you may be fully clear of the negative emotions. If not, do the exercise a few times more until you are fully clear.

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Forgiveness</strong> is the linchpin of Transformative imagination.</p>
<p>There are <strong>many different forgiveness exercises</strong> we do in Transformative Imagination. The three points of view forgiveness exercise is a method of forgiveness which can be practiced by yourself.</p>
<p>It is based on the principle of &#8220;<strong>but for the grace of God, there go I</strong>.&#8221;</p>
<p>You first relax by closing your eyes and taking a few deep breaths and silently telling yourself &#8220;Relax&#8230; Go in deeper&#8230;&#8221; as you breath out slowly.</p>
<p>Next remember an event which involves someone else that you imagine has hurt you.</p>
<p>Now, use your imagination and put yourself in the place of the person who hurt you. In your imagination, see the event through the eyes of the other person (this is the second person&#8217;s point of view).</p>
<p>Note that we all do whatever we do given our resources (weaknesses often when we fail ourselves). So seeing the event from the others point of view, also note the other person&#8217;s weaknesses.</p>
<p>Really use your imagination and walk a mile in the other person&#8217;s moccassines.</p>
<p>Next, step out of the others head and review the event objectively. See the event from way above so that the event becomes smaller and less emotionally significant.</p>
<p>Imagine the event runs backwards as a movie running in reverse. Go backwards in time until you reach fifteen minutes before the event.</p>
<p>From this objective point of view and fifteen minutes before the event has happened, understanding a little about the others point of view -</p>
<h1 style="text-align: center;">forgive the other</h1>
<p>Say silently, &#8220;I forgive you, bless you, and understand you did whatever you did, out of weakness. I let you go and set you free. I&#8217;m now free of the chains which bind us.&#8221;</p>
<p>Take a few more deep breaths and move into the first person position (looking at the event through your own eyes) and notice that the event is way less emotionally charged.</p>
<p>Hopefully even the first time you may be fully clear of the negative emotions. If not, do the exercise a few times more until you are fully clear.
